OUR PURPOSE

ADVOCACY for Reproductive Justice

ACCESSIBILITY to reproductive healthcare for Virginians in need

ACTION on behalf of Virginians

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to build power across differences to secure reproductive health, rights, and justice and advance racial equity for all people in Virginia.

OUR VISION

We envision a Virginia where people and families lead healthy, authentic lives with dignity, respect, and access to the resources needed to support their decisions — of when, how, where and with whom they decide to build a family.

We will create and foster a space that is just and equitable, where every person — regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender identity, sexuality, documented or un-documented status, formerly incarcerated, involvement with the criminal justice system, ability, language, income, or zip code — is empowered and has the full autonomy to thrive as we all should.

OUR VALUES

  • TRUST ICON

We trust in the allegiance of our collective values to work collaboratively, with transparency, respect and honesty we value working together cohesively to advance our goals. We strive for a new, flexible way of working together that grows, changes, and evolves as we experiment, iterate, and learn together.

  • solidarity icon

We respect and seek to represent all people, we value centering of the most impacted in our work and are committed to equity within our communities, our organizations and within this work. We recognize that people don’t lead single-issue lives. Our process is rooted in an intersectional framework that does not define people or communities by a single identity as we work for systemic change.

  • anti-racism & equity logo

“Anti-Racism”, “equity” and “centering” is the standard for connection to those most impacted by racist systems. We will remain flexible and open to feedback and willing to make adjustments that better serve our shared mission and vision. Recognizing and supporting the leadership of people most impacted by systemic oppression. This includes but is not limited to BIPOC folks, LGBTQIA+ individuals, young people, and immigrants. Recognizing and addressing the multi-layered impact of power and oppression on BIPOC people.

  • community icon

We cannot successfully build power and demand equity as individuals. We will work to foster community connections within our organizations as well as in our homes, neighborhoods and respective community spaces. Building community facilitates the values we wish to embody as individuals and collectively. While building, we will remain grounded in knowing that we value each other’s time and opinions, and we assume best intentions.

We are approaching abortion access work from a Reproductive Justice and intersectional framework by modeling and developing pathways to abortion access that do not rely on state policy change, as we work towards a reproductive rights revolution.
